Product Overview

The ScanJet Pro 3000 s3 Sheet-Feed Scanner joins three other scanners that recently debuted in HP’s lineup. At $480, the ScanJet Pro 3000 scans at up to 35ppm (in both black and color) in simplex and up to 70ipm in duplex. It includes a 50-sheet automatic document feeder. The maximum scan size of the feeder is 8.5″ x 122″.

HP’s Instant-On Scanning feature allows users to scan documents without waiting for the scanner to warm up. The ScanJet Pro 3000 s3 also includes a 550MHz processor and 512MB of memory. Its daily duty cycle is 3,500 pages.

There is also a one-touch scanning button for creating custom workflows.

The HP ScanJet 3000 s3 Sheet-feed Scanner is ideal for small-to-medium-sized businesses with moderate scanning needs that requires a compact and efficient device.

Features

Users can scan a variety of media, such as business cards, checks, pre-punched paper and freight bills, to name a few. The scanner also supports file formats, such as text, JPEG, PDF and TIFF.

USB connectivity is supported. HP offers an additional USB port as an option for wireless connectivity. Users can also send scans to email and to the cloud. They can also send scans to mobile device via the HP JetAdvantage Capture App.

Other scanning features include optical character recognition (OCR), auto-color detect, color dropout, hole punch removal, page straightening, background cleanup and PDF security.

Ultrasonic detection is supported.

Bundled software include HP Scan, HP Scanner Tools Utility, Nuance PaperPort, I.R.I.S. Readiris and I.R.I.S Cardiris.

The ScanJet Pro 3000 has a standard one-year limited warranty for replacement of the device. It includes phone and web support. Users can purchase a three-year onsite next-business day exchange warranty as an option.

Shortcomings
