About BetterBuys

AI guidance you can actually trust.

Independent business technology research since 1996, now focused entirely on helping buyers find, understand, and compare AI tools and services.

Three decades of helping businesses choose better.

BetterBuys was founded in 1996 in New York City by a small team of analysts who believed business buyers deserved better than vendor marketing and anonymous forum threads. For most of three decades we were known for business technology buying guidance. Today we point that same independence at one question: which AI tools and services actually fit your business.

BetterBuys is now a B2B AI discovery portal. We help business owners find, understand, and compare AI tools, and we help AI companies become better labeled, categorized, and understood. We still do not sell software, and money still cannot change a ranking. Sponsored placements are always labeled and never affect where a product ranks.

If a ranking can be bought, it is worthless to the buyer reading it. Sponsored placements on BetterBuys are always labeled, and they never move a product up the list. Our independence is the entire product.

How we rank AI tools.

Every product on BetterBuys is scored with a published formula: 35% category fit, 20% use-case fit, 15% buyer and industry fit, 10% integration fit, 10% evidence quality, 5% pricing transparency, and 5% freshness. The weights are public because a ranking you cannot inspect is a ranking you cannot trust.

Our research is AI-assisted and human-edited. Editors review what our systems produce before it ships, and every product page shows a last-verified date so you know exactly how current the information is. Sponsored placements are always labeled and never affect organic ranking order.

Vendors can claim their listing to verify ownership and request corrections. When we get something wrong, we fix it and note the change.

A track record vendors earned, never bought

Before AI, BetterBuys was best known for independent business technology research. Vendors celebrated our recognition publicly because it could not be purchased. That same standard sits behind every AI ranking we publish today.
