Product Overview
HealthcareSource provides a range of business solutions, including applicant tracking, performance management and more. For the purposes of this review, we’ve focused on NetLearning.
HealthcareSource NetLearning is a Learning Management System (LMS) that’s specialized for healthcare facilities.
Facility administrators are able to plan, deliver and track staff education with NetLearning. Through the system, staff can access a range of professional development courses and uniquely blend resources.
Authoring tools are included in the solution so facilities can create their own lesson plans, or the solution can be integrated with a library of eLearning lessons. Instructor-led classes can also be organized in the system.
Features
NetLearning features fall under three categories:
1. Plan – Create original content with either the integrated authoring tool or through the open authoring platform. Mobile delivery and HTML content can be used within original course content, and 25 compliance courses are included. A separate product license allows users access to an online library with over 5,500 eLearning modules. For healthcare organizations that have non-employees such as students, visiting physicians, contractors, that need to utilize their LMS for compliance and training, NetLearning can handle data from multiple sources to bring in “non-employed employee” data.
2. Deliver – Manage instructor-led room assignments, course handouts, projectors and other equipment with the solution’s scheduling system. Attendance is tracked within the system for each class. For employees that aren’t able to complete courses without interruption, such as needing to attend to patient care, for example, learners can bookmark courses and tests then return once they are available again.
3. Track – Access a dashboard for a quick overview of course completions and the status of certifications and licenses. Check on who is enrolled and other information through graphical illustrations while drilling down to individual departments and users.
Continuing Education (CE) credits are auto-rewarded per course completion with an unlimited number of credit types.
The solution supports reports required by The Joint Commission, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Magnet designation surveyors as well as documentation required for state CE Boards and American Heart Association Training Centers.
NetLearning also integrates with HealthcareSource Performance Manager, to enable managers and educators to align performance goals with learning courses, as well as with HealthcareSource Leadership Assessment to provide learning course recommendations to staff who have been assessed to have strong leadership competencies.

Implementation/Integration

The solution can integrate with existing standalone HR solutions to streamline certain processes. To eliminate duplicate data entry, NetLearning automatically pulls information about each employee from the system, such as name, job title, department, ID number and email address. In addition, NetLearning’s auto-enrollment feature can assign training and orientation courses to new hires during the onboarding process.
