Product Overview

The Phaser 6022 Color Printer joins its multifunction sibling, the WorkCentre 6027, in Xerox’s single-function color printer lineup. At $279, it prints at 18ppm in both black and color. It’s intended for small offices.

Its processor speed is 525MHz and memory is 256MB, not expandable. First-page-out-time in color is 13 seconds. The enhanced dpi resolution is up to 1,200 x 2,400 via the Hi-Q LED engine. With the PANTONE color technology, users can make last-minute color adjustments to the print.

More details are in our Features section below.

There is a one-year quick-exchange warranty that is standard with the printer. Companies can earn free service concierge with Xerox’s eConcierge program. Extended warranty options are available. As with its other devices, Xerox provides its Total Satisfaction Guarantee.

The Phaser 6022 is intended for small businesses that need color printing. It’s a compact and quiet device with very good print quality.

Features

PCL, PostScript and direct PDF are supported. USB, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi is standard. Mobile printing is also standard via Apple AirPrint, Xerox PrintBack, Google Cloud Print, or Mopria Print Service Plug-in.

Standard input is a 150-sheet tray. It accepts up to 8.5″ x 14″ paper. There are no additional paper trays. The output tray consists of 100 sheets. The monthly duty cycle is 30,000 pages.

Other print features include auto screening, N-up, custom page sizes, scaling, reduce/enlarge, draft mode and collation.

Security features include secure HTTPS, secure IPP, SSL, IP filtering, IPv6, and WEP/WPA for wireless security.

We’ve calculated the cost per page at 3.8 cents in black and 20.3 cents in color. It’s pretty high, but not out of line for printers targeted at small businesses.

  • Automatic Document Feeder?
  • Duplexing?
  • Ethernet Connectivity?

Shortcomings

The print speed will be too slow for offices other than small businesses. Also, there are no additional paper tray options, and duplexing isn’t offered.
