Product Overview

Ricoh has added the new SP 330SFN (and its single-function sibling, the SP 330DN) to its black-and-white printer lineup. The SP 330SFN includes standard printing, coping, scanning and faxing features. It prints and copies at up to 34 ppm, and has a 4.3″ color touch panel for easier access to common workflows.

The SP 330SFN comes with a 400 MHz processor and 256 MB of memory. Warmup time is 23 seconds, and first-page-out-time is 7.1 seconds. PCL and PostScript printing languages are supported.

The device has standard USB and Ethernet connectivity. Wireless is optional. Mobile printing is supported via the Ricoh SmartDeviceConnector, AirPrint, Mopria and Google Cloud Print apps.

More details on the SP 330SFN is in our Features section below.

The SP 330SFN is a good buy for busy small-to-medium workgroups that don’t need color output.

Features

Paper input starts with a 250-sheet tray and a 50-sheet bypass tray. Ricoh offers an optional 250-sheet tray for a maximum capacity of 550 sheets. The bypass tray supports envelope and banner printing, while the other trays support paper up to 8.5″ x 14″.

Automatic duplexing is standard. The output paper capacity is 50 sheets, and there are no finishing options. The maximum monthly duty cycle is 35,000 pages.

There is also a 35-sheet automatic reversing document feeder.

Other printing features include collating, ability to not print blank pages, locked print, toner saver and watermark.

The color scanning function supports scan-to-email, to-folder, to-USB and to-FTP. File formats supported include JPEG, single- and multi-page TIFF and single- and multi-page PDF.

The faxing function includes a 33.6kbps modem and up to 2 GB of fax memory. LAN fax and LDAP support are standard.

The SP 330SFN ships with a 1,000-page all-in-one print cartridge. The aftermarket cartridge has 3,500 pages.

We don’t have the prices for the consumables so we were unable to calculate the cost per page. However, based on Ricoh’s history of low cost of ownership, we can expect that the cost-per-page will be reasonable.

Users can also save on print cartridge costs by utilizing the printer’s environmental features, such as duplexing and the N-up feature that allows users to print two pages in a single sheet.

Finally, there is a one-year warranty.
