Product Overview
The Kodak i1190 Scanners series joins the ScanMate i1150 and the i2000 Series in Kodak Alaris’ lineup. They scan at up to 40ppm in black, grayscale and color in 200dpi and 300dpi. There are three scanners in this series:
- The i1190 Scanner ($795) that run the PerfectPage imaging functionality on a user’s computer,
- The i1190E Scanner ($895) that run PerfectPage imaging features directly within the scanner, and
- The i1190WN Scanner (price unknown) that allows for network and wireless scanning as well as mobile scanning.
All three scanners have a daily duty cycle of 5,000 pages. They support paper sizes that range from a minimum of 2.5″ x 2.5″ to a maximum of 8.5″ x 14″. Long document mode of up to 3 meters is also accepted.
We’ve detailed more information on the i1190 Scanners in our Features section below.
The i1190 Scanners are ideal for small-to-medium-sized offices in a wide variety of industries, including finance, healthcare, government and insurance. Notably impressive is the i1190WN Scanner that provides networking and wireless connectivity.
Features
All three scanners include a wide range of imaging features, such as automatic color detection, blank page removal, fixed thresholding, enhanced color adjustment and management, fixed and relative cropping and color dropout. Ultrasonic multi-feed detection is supported.
There is also the Intelligent Document Protection feature that stops the scanning process if it suspects paper jams or misfeeds. USB connectivity is supported on all devices, while the i1190WN Scanner supports Ethernet and wireless connectivity.
The document feeder supports up to 75 sheets, and Kodak offers two optional flatbed accessories: a legal-sized flatbed and a ledger-sized flatbed.
The scanners output to the following file formats: JPEG, PDF, searchable PDF, BMP and single and multi-page TIFF, to name a few.
There is a one-button Smart Touch feature for setting up to nine workflows, such as sending scans via email, creating PDF or scanning paper to the cloud. All three scanners include Kodak Capture Pro Software and Kodak Asset Management Software. The Asset Management Software allows the system administrator to manage specific Kodak Alaris scanners across the network via a thin client-based dashboard.
Bundled software for Windows systems include TWAIN, ISIS and WIA drivers, Kodak Capture Pro Limited Edition and Kodak Capture Pro Trial Edition. Bundled software for Mac systems include NewSoft Presto! PageManager, NewSoft Presto! BizCard Xpress and TWAIN driver. The i1190 Scanners also has an optional Info Input Solution for enabling the user’s Line of Business (LOB) application.
Finally, there is a three-year limited warranty.
